Strong Girls and Powerful Women: Tales of Triumph

October 17 @ 7:30 pm 9:30 pm EDT

Keep Your Hands Off My Gender is a humorous and touching story of one girl’s awakening to the politics of authority, gender, and sports in the 1960s. The “Kid” has spent her young life pursuing the activities that she finds fun and fulfilling. Her perceptions are challenged, and her outlook on life is forever changed when she is introduced to the painful reality of social expectations.

Fight Like a Girl weaves together a tapestry of monologues written by various authors that imagine accomplished women from history recounting their own stories of struggle, inspiration, and perseverance. Authors of this work include Jill Abbinanti-Burke, Tamadhur Al-Aqeel, Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend, Helen Dooley, Colette Freedman, Niki Hatzidis, Emmy Kreilkamp, Taylor Leigh Lamb, AJ Layague, Emy McGuire, Elizabeth Nafula, Amanda O’Donnell, Kelsey Rain, Kathy Rucker, Lisa Saleh, Roslyn Schwartz, and Ashley Singer.
